Remember that time Peugeot made the 908 RC, a mid-engined sedan with a 700 hp diesel V12 sedan from a Le Mans car? I do. Best concept car ever. A close second is the stunning 907 Concept, if for nothing else than that little ITB viewing window on the hood.

I’m still partial to the Volkswagen 1-Liter Auto:

It was a ridiculously pure attempt to make the most efficient car that they could with 2002 technology. Carbon fiber bodywork, magnesium space frame, extreme streamlining, and a 300 cc, 8.5 hp single-cylinder diesel that could push it up to 75 mph, through a 6-speed automated manual gearbox. VW claimed 0.89 l/100 km, or 264 miles per US gallon.

Peugeot often teased us with supercar concepts. Peugeot never built any. Fuck that.

I like the Nissan Mid4 for what could have been. Love the 300ZX and love the idea of this too.

I’d never heard of the 908 RC before, but I love it!

I salute the madness of people who think of transverse mounting a V12, just like in the Lamborghini Miura.
